During her ministry in Northern Illinois, she served Chicago: Clearing, Chicago: Ashburn, Plano, Malta, Northwest Malta, Red Oak (Bureau), and Wyanet. She was appointed to a medical leave of absence in 2017 and retired this year.

Mrs. Marcia L. Ruth, spouse of retired member Rev. Orrell Ruth of the Northern Illinois Conference, passed away September 13, 2021, at age 82. During his ministry in the conference, Rev. Ruth served Chicago: Logan Square, Alexis Henderson, Atwood Heights, Freeport: First, Ottawa: First, Lake Bluff: Grace, Schaumburg: Our Redeemer's. He retired in 1999.
