Almost 200 March for Justice for Immigrants
About 150 Northern Illinois United Methodists marched to demonstrate their support of justice for immigrants on June 15, near the Schaumburg Renaissance Convention Center.
More than a dozen youth and leaders traveled to St. Louis to experience the Special Session of General Conference firsthand. The Rev. Jane Cheema, a deacon from First UMC in Evanston, organized the trip for her youth group she says to give them the opportunity to" see the Church at work in the world." The group also included one youth from Community UMC in Naperville. Take a listen to their hopes for the future of the Church below.
