Join us for our weekly Zoom video conference.

On this Holy Thursday, we will have a panel of pastors and clinicians to help us identify signs of anxiety and depression and offer ways to practice self-care during this COVID-19 crisis.

Panelists:

Anne Hampson:  Rev. Anne C. Hampson, D.Min., LCPC, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Illinois, a National Certified Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors, Psychotherapy level member of the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, endorsed Pastoral Counselor by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, and a retired Deacon in the Northern Illinois Annual Conference.  Anne has served on the Conference Board of Ordained Ministry and currently serves as Psychological Coordinator of the Chicago Northwestern District Committee on Ministry. Anne’s expertise as a pastoral counselor includes anxiety, depression, grief, and clergy issues. 

Cheryl Magrini: Rev. Cheryl Magrini, Ph.D. is the Director and Retreat Leader of Woodland Spiritual Retreats for women in ministry, both clergy and laity. Her residential retreats are for one to four women who attend as a group and designed to specifically provide spiritual and physical renewal through a slow-paced Sabbath. She is the founder and advisor to the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) Chicago Loop Chapter and past president of national DBSA. Rev. Magrini serves FUMC Chicago Temple as a biblical studies teacher and shepherds the mental health task force.

Bill Lenters:  Rev. Lenters was ordained in 1966 and has served as the chaplain at Rosecrance since 1998. He says he "can’t seem to completely retire." Lenters says he's grateful to be a United Methodist after being born and raised in the Christian Reformed Church, which he served in various capacities including parish and campus ministries.

Claude King: Rev. King is is an ordained Elder and lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. He is the senior pastor at First UMC in Downers Grove. He received his bachelor's degree in sociology with an emphasis in anthropology from Chicago State University and received his Master of Divinity degree from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. He has served as pastor and associate pastor at a variety of churches in Chicago, including the Chicago Temple, in Glen Ellyn, and was recently the pastor of the Olympia Fields UMC. Rev. King also serves on the UMC-NIC Board of Ordained Ministry. This Board is responsible for guiding clergy candidates through the ordination process, including interviewing and recommending all candidates who are seeking to be fully ordained as ministers in the NIC-UMC.
