Pentecost Gathering in Freeport Area Raises Hope
Hope was alive on May 31 as an intergenerational group of over 300 from 16 Freeport-area churches gathered at the Oakdale Tabernacle to celebrate Pentecost.

Panel discussion via Zoom video conference with Bishop Sally Dyck, Rev. Daniel Diss, Rev. Becky Nicol and Rev. Hwa-Young Chong. They will be answering questions concerning the celebration of Holy Communion during this time under the COVID-19 pandemic. Rev. Diss, Rev. Nicol and Rev. Chong served on an advisory team for the bishop concerning online Holy Communion. The team included Prof. Byron “Ron” Anderson (Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary), Dr. Dawn Chesser (Discipleship Ministries), Rev. Anne Ferguson (Illinois Great Rivers Conference, as well as, Rev. Becky Nicol, Rev. Joshua Baily-Green, Rev. Daniel Cochran, Rev. Hwa-Young Chong, Rev. Wendy Hardin, and Rev. Daniel Diss, all of the Northern Illinois Conference.
