Accessibility Ministries is a service to all churches and church members of the NIC.
Our mission is helping churches make their ministries accessible to all. We want to be an active resource when churches consider renovations, new structures and other building improvements. This site will include information to assist in areas such as vision assistance, hearing assistance, wheelchair/power chair access, restroom facilities, ramp installation, signage, parking and many more.

The center of this work is that people with accessibility issues are also disciples of Jesus Christ, and “Open Doors” includes them.

Vision impairment is a challenge for 21.5 million Americans. This should definitely be a consideration in our church buildings and publications. There are several online resources available. We suggest you explore;

American Printing House for the Blind:   www.aph.org

American Foundation for the Blind: www.afb.org

Both of these sites offer a variety of information ranging from how to make a building more accessible to the correct font to use for large print publications.
